President Bola Tinubu launched the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem and appeal fund at Abuja’s State House, praising the Armed Forces for their frontline defense role and sacrifices toward Nigeria’s unity, stability, and growth. He emphasized the need for a secure environment as a foundation for national progress, underscoring the nation’s debt to its military heroes.
During the event, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, announced a donation of ₦500 million on behalf of the Federal Executive Council, marking one of the largest contributions at an emblem appeal launch.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio and the Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, also made significant pledges of ₦200 million and ₦50 million respectively on behalf of the National Assembly, Service Chiefs, and Inspector General of Police.

Tinubu, alongside key government officials, received the emblem as a symbol of solidarity with the fallen heroes, veterans, and their families.
The Emblem Appeal serves as a tribute to the courage of Nigeria’s military personnel and a commitment to support veterans and their dependents.
