The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police operative have rescued 14 kidnapped victims after a shootout with criminals in a forest located at Ukya village, on the border between Abuja and Nasarawa state.
The operation, conducted by the anti-kidnapping unit and the Rubochi Division Police Headquarters, was based on credible intelligence.
During the rescue, a gun duel ensued between the police and the kidnappers, resulting in the neutralization of one kidnapper.
The rescued hostages were unharmed and have been reunited with their families.
The Commissioner of Police in the FCT, CP Haruna Garba, reiterated the commitment to eliminating criminal activities in the region.
Residents were encouraged to report suspicious activities through emergency lines provided by the police.
