Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in Lagos State have been charged to sustain optimum security within their respective areas of responsibility.
The Acting Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, DCP Ayilara Waheed gave the charge during a strategic meeting with the officers and other heads of department serving in the command as the Yuletide approaches.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Benjamin Hundeyin disclosed this through a statement he signed on Friday.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review of the deployment of human, material and operational resources, especially at identified strategic and vulnerable points across the State was undertaken.
He also charged deployed officers to remain professional and courteous but firm in the discharge of their duties.
To ensure the effectiveness of these security measures, DCP Ayilara assured the public that there will be continuous monitoring and evaluation of the deployed strategies as required.
The Command equally enjoins residents in the state to be vigilant, security-conscious, and to promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
The Lagos Police chief expressed confidence that, with the collective efforts of the police and the community, the state will remain safe and secure for all.
