Nigerian Afro-Pop sensation, Yemi Alade, has announced the release of her much-anticipated Extended Play (EP), ‘Mamapiano’.
In a recent telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the artist revealed that this new collection of songs is set to create the perfect atmosphere for the rest of the year and beyond.
Alade, who is renowned for her musical prowess, has ventured into the Amapiano subgenre of house music with this new EP.
Amapiano, a Nguni word meaning “the pianos”, is characterized by its hybrid of deep house jazz, lounge music, synths, and wide percussive basslines, and emerged in South Africa in the mid-2010s.
The singer disclosed that she has successfully experimented with four new tracks in the new EP, each carrying unique rhythms and melodies that can accompany you anywhere, regardless of the occasion.
She confidently stated that once the EP is played, it will set the perfect mood for the rest of the year into 2024.
Alade had just wrapped up her 40-country USA/Europe tour and decided to end the year on a high with a playlist gift for her fans.
The EP features some standout tracks, including the self-affirmation and gospel-inspired song titled “Mind Ova Mata (Amazing Grace)”, which highlights the singer’s gratitude to God for His love, grace, and the ability to conquer.
Another track, titled “EFCC”, is a party song that promises to be an instant TikTok sensation.

The lyrics have been composed like an ideal conversation between lovers, and the singer believes it will be a hit with fans.
“Get Up” is a perfect blend of multiple genres such as Afrobeat, Dance, Amapiano, Hip hop, and Pop, with Alade delivering the track with a Michael Jackson flair.
The song is infectious and has the potential to become a party favourite.
The EP’s final track, “Ogini”, highlights a night spent with the singer’s girlfriends to celebrate her birthday.
With this track, Alade captures the essence of partying, extravagant spending, and enjoying the moment.
Alade is the first African female Afro Pop star to hit over 100 million views on YouTube and VEVO with her smash hit single, “Johnny”, which is now the most viewed video from an African female pop star ever.
Her discography includes several albums such as King of Queens (2014), Mama Africa – The Diary of an African Woman (2016), Mama Afrique EP (2017), Black Magic & Deluxe Version (2017), Woman of Steel (2019), Empress (2020), Queendoncom (2021), and AfricanBaddie (2022).
