The Super Falcons squad for the upcoming games has been announced by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The squad of 24 players invited to the team’s camp for the first-leg qualifying match for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations against Sao Tome and Principe comprises goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, midfielder Rasheedat Ajibade, and striker Asisat Oshoala, among others.
The Nigerian team, a nine-time African champion, will be playing against the Sao Tome and Principe women at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Friday, September 22.
The roster also includes captain Onome Ebi, defenders Oluwatosin Demehin, Michelle Alozie and Rofiat Imuran, midfielders Rasheedat Ajibade and Toni Payne, and forwards Ifeoma Onumonu, Vivian Ikechukwu and Gift Monday.
The second leg of the qualifying match is scheduled for Tuesday, September 26, with Sao Tome and Principe hosting the Super Falcons.
The winner of this fixture will be able to face the winner of another first-round fixture, between Cape Verde and Liberia, in the second-round stage scheduled for the period 27th November – 5th December.
The 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will be held in Morocco, which hosted the previous edition.
