Famous Afrobeat singer, Davido, paused his performance at the Afronation festival in the United States to pay tribute to WizKid’s late mother, Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun.
Crux News reports that Wizkid’s mother died in the US on Friday, August 18, 2023.
Addressing the crowd, Davido noted that
Wizkid made his mother proud with his musical achievements before she passed on.
“Personally, I have lost so many people in my life. And I want to send condolences to my brother, Ayo Balogun Wizkid. To his mother, may her soul rest in peace.
“I lost my mother myself years ago. But I know whatever he [Wizkid] has done, he has made his mother proud.”
