In a significant move, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 555 individuals to serve as chairmen and members of governing councils of universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education in Nigeria. This decision was announced through an advertorial signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack.

- Udoma Udo Udoma, former Minister of Budget and National Planning, as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Board of Bayero University, Kano, Kano State, with members including Prof. Idris Nasiru Maiduguri, Prof. Uchenna Newi, Salisu Mohammed Birniwa, and Ms Fola Akinsete.
