The Lagos State Police Command said its operatives arrested three persons allegedly involved in cyberstalking, cyber bullying, alleged abduction and threat to life.
The suspects including Dorcas Adeyinka and Folake Adekola who are both females and a man, Sikiru Ayinde are also accused of a conduct that is likely to cause a breach of peace.
Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed this in a statement on Saturday said their arrest followed numerous petitions from different persons.
“The Police, having conducted preliminary investigations and establishing these cases against the suspects, arrested the suspects for a consolidation and harmonization of the investigations for possible prosecution.
“To get adequate time for the conclusion of ongoing investigation, the Police have approached a court of competent jurisdiction and got a remand order for the suspects till January 10, 2024,” Hundeyin said.
He added that the Force would continue to enforce extant laws of the nation, particularly those relating to cyberstalking and cyber bullying which he noted can trigger violence if not adequately managed or curtailed.
He further pledged that members of the public will be kept abreast of developments as the investigation progresses.
