Gunmen have abducted two Chinese nationals near Kemta, along Onigbedu in the Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State. The incident, confirmed on Monday by the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, has raised concerns about the security of expatriates in the region.
Odutola revealed that efforts are underway to ensure the safe release of the victims. The kidnappers have already contacted the company employing the abducted Chinese nationals, demanding a ransom in exchange for their freedom.
“The company’s security supervisor reported that one of the expatriates called to inform him that Wenguang and Ding had been kidnapped and that the kidnappers were demanding money for their release,” Odutola stated.
In response, a coordinated search operation was launched by the Ewekoro Division of the police, supported by local vigilantes, military personnel from the Social Orientation and Safety Corps, local hunters, and other security groups.

The teams conducted a thorough search of the Kemta Village Forest, but unfortunately, the victims have not yet been located.
The police and other security agencies are continuing their efforts to secure the release of the kidnapped expatriates, with the situation remaining tense as negotiations are ongoing.
