Troops of the Nigerian Army intercepted two Dangote trucks and three others allegedly transporting banned goods to Cameroon.
The Truck was Loaded with 600 50kg bags of cement each, after been caught were paraded at the headquarters of the Nigerian police in Yola, Adamawa state.
This interception followed an executive order by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri banning the transportation of building materials across the border through Adamawa routes.
Officials stated the trucks were intercepted a few kilometers before Jamtari, a border village between Nigeria and Cameroon.
While authorities enforced the ban, Dangote Cement officials denied the goods were intended for Cameroon.
However, a contact person named Abiola Oyetunji expressed surprise, stating the trucks should not have left the Yola depot without the goods being sold.
