How hilarious can this guy ever be? Josh2funny gave a stand-up performance at the America’s Got Talent Show this August at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium
Chibuike Josh Alfred, professionally known as Josh2Funny, is a Nigerian comedian, actor, and musician.
He stunned the judges with a triple-threat performance with different personalities, at different times, and with different acts.
The Anambra-born skit-maker took to the stage with his first act as a speed reader, where he quickly flipped through a few books’ pages at a tremendous speed while making some indecipherable gibberish sound, in the pretence of reading the books at lightning speed.
The performance was deemed “pointless” by Simon Cowell, prompting Sofia Vergara to hit the red X first.
He joked earlier about spending his $1 million winnings on books, but when the Judges quizzed him on Romeo and Juliet, he hilariously answered, “I guess they died or something.”
Obviously, Josh got four no-votes, but he wasn’t quite finished. Later he returned, this time wearing a wig and introducing himself as J-OSH, “the fastest rapper in the world.”
Without wasting any time, Vergara and Klum quickly hit the red X as Alfred continued to spew out nonsensical words.
Alfred tried to argue that he was getting to the best part and was about to impress them, but Cowell just laughed.
Despite his claim that those who appreciate “fast rap” could slow it down in their minds, the Judges couldn’t understand a word he was saying.
With four no votes, they thought they’d seen the last of Josh Alfred, but he wasn’t done yet.
Josh tried to pull off an impersonation of the renowned magician Terrifying J by wearing a fake beard, but his act failed to impress and he stumbled through it, dropping playing cards from his hat.
Eventually, Mandel had to step in and give him the red buzzer.
When the discussion turned to Mandel’s life in connection with the cards, Terrifying J asked for his birth month and promised to draw an 11 for November (note: standard playing cards don’t include 11). Mandel expressed excitement, but Josh drew a 10 instead.
Simultaneously hitting their red buzzers, Klum and Vergara expressed their feedback.
Despite this, Cowell applauded the performance, while the audience laughed along.
Josh followed his magic act by inviting AGT Host Terry Crews onstage. Staying true to character as Terrifying J, and despite receiving rejections from Mandel, Klum, and Vergara, he confidently declared that he would control Crews’ mind.
He then proceeded to instruct the Host to raise one hand and then the other, and wave to the crowd. Josh then requested Crews to smile, followed by a frown, both of which the Host willingly obliged. “I controlled his mind,” Terrifying J boasted to the Judges.
While Vergara found the performance “funny” and Klum found Josh “likable,” they still voted against his advancement in the AGT competition, much to the audience’s disappointment.
“I get it now,” Cowell proclaimed. “You’re hilarious, and I really like you.” With Cowell casting a positive vote, Josh still fell short of the necessary votes to move forward. However, the performer successfully got the audience on their feet with another unintelligible rap, reverting back to J-OSH. “Do you have a second song?” Cowell joked.
