The Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal in Lafia, Nasarawa State, has reserved judgment on the petition challenging the outcome the 2023 governorship election
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that David Ombugadu, governorship candidate of the PDP, is challenging the victory of Gov. Abdullahi Sule of the APC at the 2023 governorship election.
The Thursday sitting was scheduled for the adoption of final written addresses by counsels to the petitioner as well as the first, second and third respondents.
The three- man panel led by Justice Ezekiel Ajayi, reserved the judgment after counsels to the petitioner and respondents adopted their final written addresses.
Justice Ajayi stated that the judgement date would be communicated to all parties via their counsels.
The petitioner’s lead counsel Kanu Agabi (SAN), in his address urged the tribunal to annul the Nasarawa State governorship election for non compliance with the Electoral Act and declare the candidate of PDP as the real winner of the election.
Whie the Counsel to APC, Olanikpekun in his address urged the tribunal to dismiss the petition.
