The All Progressives Congress (APC) has welcomed Wednesday’s ruling of the Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC) in declaring President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the validly elected President in the February 25, 2023 presidential polls.
The ruling party in a statement reacting to the ruling by its National Publicity Secretary, Barr. Felix Morka said the verdict was a vindication of the president and the party.
The presidential election petition tribunal had dismissed the petitions brought by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP) and Abubakar Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as lacking merit in upholding Tinubu’s victory.
“This epochal decision is a solid affirmation of the mandate freely handed to President Tinubu of the APC by the Nigerian electorate, and constitutes undiluted victory for our democracy.
“We commend the PEPT for doing manifest justice in this matter and for upholding the popular will of Nigerians as expressed through their ballots.
“We congratulate our dear President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, party members, supporters and the Nigerian electorate on this magnificent victory,” the statement said.
