Incident at Ikosi Oregun Industrial Area
Two factory workers tragically died on Saturday in Lagos State’s Ikosi Oregun area after an accident involving a diesel reservoir at their workplace.
Details of the Fatal Incident
According to a statement from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the incident began when one worker accidentally fell into the diesel reservoir while performing his duties. In a heroic but fatal attempt to save his colleague, another worker also fell into the reservoir.
Emergency Response and Medical Efforts
The LASEMA Response Team quickly arrived at the scene, providing immediate first aid including CPR to the victims. They were then rushed to a nearby hospital by the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS). Despite these efforts, the agency later confirmed that both men succumbed to their injuries despite extensive medical intervention.
