The Lagos Coroner Court on Wednesday, stated that the most crucial aspect of an autopsy to determine the cause of the late singer Mohbad’s death is being conducted in the United States of America (USA).
The state counsel, O. Akinde, told the Coroner Magistrate, Adetayo Shotobi, that the autopsy into the external body of the deceased had been completed.
Akinde made this known following the insistence of other counsel to the father of the deceased, David Fadimu, that of TNKay Music Worldwide, David Nawoola, and representative of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikorodu, O.S.A. Aranmolaran.
“The toxicology test, which has to do with the internal body, is being done in the US,” he said.
MohBad died on September 12, 2023, and was buried in the Ikorodu area of Lagos, the next day.
Following the outcry which trailed his death, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, ordered a forensic Investigation to unravel the cause of the death.
Based on the IGP’s directive, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, placed a 10-man team, including a pathologist to exhume his corpse and investigate Mohbad’s death.
However, before his corpse was exhumed, there were controversies on the paternity test of Mohbad’s son.
Amid the raging storm, Mohbad’s wife, Omawunmi broke her silence on the controversial death of her husband.
In a chat which was posted by popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, the widow stated that she would rather not talk till the inquest performed on her late husband was complete.
