Actress and politician Tonto Dikeh has voiced her disappointment regarding the boreholes provided to some Northern Nigerian communities by former Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi.
During Ramadan, Obi visited these communities, shared in the breaking of the fast, and donated essential amenities.
However, the borehole quality has sparked debate, with some Nigerians claiming they were poorly constructed and not befitting a Presidential candidate of Obi’s stature.
In an Instagram post, Tonto expressed her genuine dissatisfaction and disbelief at Obi’s actions. She stated, “His Excellency Sir, with all due respect @peterobigregory, I am deeply disappointed by this.
The thought that Nigeria was nearly entrusted to you, sir, is disheartening. This isn’t trolling; I’m genuinely dissatisfied with your actions and in disbelief.
Were you truly committed to elevating this country? This situation underscores the necessity for us to collaborate with Mr. President @officialasiwajubat and actively contribute to the nation’s advancement. It’s not a task for one person; it demands the commitment of everyone.
YOUR EXCELLENCY, Mr. Obi, I am profoundly let down. Nevertheless, you remain one of my favored politicians. However, I believe in speaking the truth directly because I love you, but I love Nigeria more.
To Mr. Peter Obi’s supporters: If you overlook any issue with this situation, then you are part of the problem we face.
He’s not just Mr. Obi; he was nearly the President of this country, potentially serving for eight years. While some may joke about sentiments, as a Nigerian, I owe my country a renewed hope through my active and intentional support of the government.
Even if he had won, I would have still worked for him but also pointed out his flaws. Sentiments won’t drive this country forward; actions will.”
