President Calls for National Support and Reflection
President Bola Tinubu has extended warm Christmas wishes to Nigerians, emphasizing that the nation is navigating towards restoration and growth. In a self-authored statement released on Tuesday, he encouraged citizens to pray for leaders at every level of government.
“On this day of joy, I send my warmest greetings to Christians in Nigeria and around the globe as we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, as told in the sacred texts,” Tinubu remarked.

He described Christmas as a celebration of divine promise fulfilled, embodying love, peace, and unity. The President highlighted that this season reminds us that even in the darkest times, light can prevail, bringing hope and comfort. This message, he noted, is universal, resonating with all faiths under the assurance that “God is with us.”

Condolences for Recent Tragedies
Tinubu also expressed deep sorrow over recent stampede incidents in Abuja, Ibadan, and Anambra, offering condolences to the bereaved families. “The tragic occurrences in Oyo, Okija, and Abuja have left us all in mourning. Our hearts go out to those affected by these devastating events,” he stated, hoping such tragedies would not repeat.
He further extended his sympathies to those who have suffered losses due to various disasters this year, invoking the comforting presence of faith and community support. “May the families touched by grief find solace in their faith, the solidarity of loved ones, and the enduring spirit of Jesus Christ. Our God, who is compassionate and merciful, stands with those in need,” Tinubu concluded.
