President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in Esther Walson-Jack as the new Head of Civil Service (HoS) of the Federation. The swearing-in ceremony took place on Monday in Abuja, ahead of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
During the ceremony, President Tinubu held a valedictory session in honor of the outgoing HoS, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan. He praised Yemi-Esan for her exceptional service and dedication to the nation, acknowledging her commitment to duty, loyalty, and visionary leadership. Tinubu highlighted the significant transformations and reforms she implemented, which have left a lasting impact on Nigeria’s public administration.
“Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan’s tenure as the Head of Civil Service of the Federation was marked by exceptional dedication, loyalty, and a clear vision for the future. She guided the Civil Service with distinction, bringing about meaningful changes and setting a high standard for efficiency and transparency,” Tinubu stated.

In her farewell remarks, Yemi-Esan urged civil servants to prioritize national progress and professionalism in their duties. She emphasized that public servants should always put the nation first, believing that such dedication would lead Nigeria to achieve its destined greatness.
Following the swearing-in, Walson-Jack expressed her commitment to building on the existing reforms while introducing new innovations and creative solutions to further enhance the service. After the ceremony, the Federal Executive Council proceeded to a closed-door session with the newly sworn-in HoS.
