Revised Nominations Submitted to Senate
President Bola Tinubu has restructured the proposed leadership of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), introducing several new appointments to bolster the Commission’s effectiveness.
The updated list, announced on December 6, 2024, replaces key nominees and adds new executives to enhance the Commission’s capacity for driving regional development.
Key Changes to the Leadership
Chairman Appointment
- Dr. Emeka Nworgu replaces Emeka Atuma as Chairman.
Executive Directors
- Finance: Stanley Ohajuruka replaces Anthony Ugbo.
- Projects: Toby Okechukwu takes over from Obinna Obiekweihe.
- Corporate Services: Chief Sylvester Okonkwo succeeds Dr. Daniel Ikechukwu Ugwuja.
- New Additions:
- Chidi Echeazu and Dr. Clifford Ogbede join as Executive Directors without specific portfolios.
Managing Director/CEO
- Mark C. Okoye retains his position, ensuring continuity.

Expanded Board Membership
