President Bola Tinubu has commissioned 30 hybrid Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses, marking a significant step towards enhancing Nigeria’s transportation system.
The commissioning ceremony took place in Abuja on Monday, with the Depots and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) donating 20 of the buses and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) contributing the remaining 10.
The newly commissioned buses have a combined passenger capacity of 30,000 and are part of a broader initiative to improve energy competitiveness and drive digital transformation in the country’s infrastructure.

“If we can enhance our energy competitiveness and bring about statehouse digital transformative changes like this, we would definitely be able to achieve the prosperity that we are working hard to accomplish for our people,” President Tinubu stated during the event. He added that these CNG buses hold great promise and will significantly enhance Nigeria’s transportation system.
