Minister of Works, Chief David Umahi, emphasized that it’s unrealistic to expect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to resolve all inherited challenges within nine months.
Umahi highlighted that the current economic hardships are not solely the fault of Tinubu’s administration, pointing to pre-existing issues such as farmer-herder conflicts that have impacted food production.
He acknowledged Tinubu’s policies aimed at addressing these challenges but stressed that complex issues cannot be resolved overnight.
Umahi cited progress in resolving farmer-herder conflicts in some regions as evidence of Tinubu’s efforts.
He discouraged protests against economic hardship, suggesting that addressing security issues would create a safer environment for farming.
Umahi also praised Tinubu’s directive to cement manufacturers to revert to old prices and commended efforts to revive the Nigeria Cement (NIGERCEM) Company.
