Furtherance to appointing new heads of federal government agencies, President Bola Tinubu on Friday approved the appointment of a Governing Council of the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF).
The Fund will be domiciled in the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
Special Adviser to the President, Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale named the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas) as the Chairman Governing Council of the Fund.
The MDGIF also has Mr. Oluwole Adama as Executive Director while Mr. Joseph Tolorunshe will serve as the secretary of the Governing Council.
Others are Engr. Farouk Ahmed, NMDPRA Chief Executive; representatives of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Federal Ministry of Finance.
The rest are Ms. Amina Maina, MDGIF Independent Members, North-East; Mr. Edet David Ubong, South-South and Mr. Tajudeen Bolaji Musa, South-West.
Tinubu mandates the appointees to discharge their duties by upholding the highest standards of transparency, discipline, and patriotism.
He noted that these are in line with his administration’s drive to enhance the role of the gas sector in achieving robust and inclusive economic growth for Nigeria.
