President Bola Tinubu, in his Independence Day broadcast on October 1, 2024, announced the launch of a National Youth Conference aimed at addressing the pressing challenges and opportunities facing young Nigerians, who account for over 60% of the country’s population.
The 30-day conference is designed as a platform for youth across the nation to unite and develop collaborative solutions to key issues such as education, employment, innovation, security, and social justice. Tinubu emphasized the importance of youth involvement, stating, “The modalities of this Confab and the selection of delegates will be designed in close consultation with our young people through their representatives.”
In addition to this, President Tinubu reassured Nigerians that his administration is doing everything possible to reduce the cost of living amidst the ongoing economic challenges. He revealed that he has called on governors to invest in mechanized farming as a strategic approach to improving food production and reducing inflation.
