Law enforcement officials in Taraba State have announced the successful rescue of three individuals kidnapped from Sibre village, Ardo Kola local government area. The incident occurred on December 6, 2024, at approximately 2:30 PM, as reported by Abdullahu Usman, the spokesperson for the Taraba Police Command.
Following a distress call, a combined force of police from Jalingo Area Command and local vigilantes pursued the abductors to Dutse Mubayu near the Kona Mountains. An intense confrontation ensued, where the superior firepower of the combined forces led to the kidnappers’ retreat, leaving the victims behind.
“The individuals were safely retrieved without injuries and have been reunited with their families,” Usman confirmed. The rescued victims were identified as Idris Adamu, Umar Usman, and Ibrahim Usman.
In addition to the rescue, the authorities seized an AK-47 magazine containing 35 rounds of ammunition. The Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Opara, praised the collaborative efforts of the police and vigilantes. He also instructed the team to step up their efforts in capturing the escaped kidnappers, while reassuring the public that the situation was under control.
