Wolverhampton Wanderers, who played with ten men, suffered a 4-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. at Molineux, Wolverhampton. Brentford stunned hosts Fulham F.C. with a 3-0 victory at Craven Cottage. Despite being reduced to ten men, Brentford secured all three points, with Yoane Wissa scoring in the 44th minute, Bryan Mbeumo converting a penalty kick in the 66th minute and completing his brace in the 92nd minute.
Liverpool outplayed Bournemouth at Anfield, with the Reds securing a 3-1 win despite having Alexis Mac Allister sent off in the 58th minute. Antoine Semenyo scored for Bournemouth in the 3rd minute, but Luiz Diaz levelled in the 28th minute for the Reds. Mohammed Salah scored in the 36th minute to give Liverpool the lead, and Diogo Jota sealed the win with a goal in the 62nd minute.
Sunday, August 20, 2023, had two matches, with West Ham United hosting Chelsea at the London Stadium.

West Ham, who were down to ten men following Nayef Aguerd’s red card in the 67th minute, put up a strong fight to emerge victorious.
