The University of Tennessee successfully recruited Jordan Ross, a top-50 edge rusher, beating out both Texas and Alabama for his commitment.
On Monday, the Tennessee football program gained a valuable edge rusher in Jordan Ross, hailing from Birmingham, Alabama.
Ross, who currently attends Vestavia Hills High, is a four-star prospect ranked No. 37 overall and the No. 4 edge rusher in the Class of 2024 according to the 247Sports Composite ranking system.

After receiving offers from Texas, Florida, and Alabama, Ross ultimately chose Tennessee, making him the 20th commitment in the Volunteers’ class.
Ross joins five-star wide receiver Mike Matthews as the second top-50 prospect in Tennessee’s impressive recruiting haul.
In fact, the Vols’ 2024 class is currently ranked No. 6 nationally and features prospects from 10 different states.
Initially, Ross had planned to take his time with his recruitment, but his official visit to Knoxville in June changed his mind.
After witnessing Tennessee’s victory over Alabama in person last season, Ross knew that he wanted to be part of the program’s promising future.
He specifically cited his excitement about former five-star quarterback Nico Lamaleava
leading the team and the direction in which the program is heading.
