Security Expert, Bulama Bukarti has urged security agencies to take “sustained security action” in Abuja, it’s environs and other parts of the country.
Reacting to the incessant and increased criminal activities in the Nation’s capital on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Monday, Bukarti said the crime is a reflection of what has been happening across Nigeria.
“Over 9,700 people were killed last year in 2023 across Nigerians. Abuja cannot be immune to that because as long as you leave insecurity to fester and flourish across Nigeria, then, it will find its way to Abuja,” he said.
He added that intelligence reports revealed that violent terrorist groups operating in all the Nothern geopolitical zones have encroached into Abuja, and states bordering the nation’s capital.
He opined that the panacea to rising insecurity challenges is to double down on the fight against bandits and terrorists in other parts of the country.
“The way to secure Abuja is to take the fight to the bandits and terrorists in other parts of the country,” he advised.
