Kwadwo Duah opened the scoring for Switzerland with his first international goal, giving his team an early advantage. Just before halftime, Michel Aebischer extended the lead, making it 2-0 and putting Switzerland in a commanding position.

In the second half, Hungary fought back, with Barnabas Varga finding the net to reduce the deficit. However, Switzerland maintained their composure, and Breel Embolo sealed the victory with a goal in added time, ensuring a winning start for the Swiss side.
The win places Switzerland in a strong position in Group A as they look forward to their upcoming matches in the tournament.
