The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Anambra Chapter, expressed their deepest condolences to Isaiah Benjamin, the national president of the association, over the passing of his father, Pa. Isaiah Israel, who died at the age of 92 in his country home, Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State on Monday morning.
The news of Pa Israel’s death came as a shock to the Anambra Chapter, especially since the national president was on a national assignment in Asaba, Delta State, at the ongoing National Youth Games.

In a condolence message signed by Anthony Oji, the Chairman, of the Anambra Chapter expressed their sympathy and support for Benjamin and his family during this difficult time.
The statement further highlighted the significance of the loss, saying, “We understand that losing a loved one is never easy, but losing a father at a time when you were on a national assignment, coordinating affairs of sports journalists, makes it even more challenging.”
The Anambra Chapter also took a moment to pray for the repose of the soul of the deceased and wished Benjamin and his family the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
Pa Isaiah Israel is survived by his wife, seven children, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
