The Nigerian national football team, also known as the Super Eagles, are set to commence their preparations for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe today, Wednesday.
The team’s first training session is scheduled to take place at 5 pm on the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, where all 23 invited players are expected to be in attendance.
Despite having already qualified for the 2023 AFCON finals, the Super Eagles are eager to end their qualifying campaign on a positive note.
A win or a draw from the game will see Jose Peseiro’s side finish top of Group A, ahead of Guinea-Bissau, who have also secured a place in the competition.

The Super Eagles will be aiming to put on a strong performance as they prepare for the upcoming tournament, which is scheduled to take place in Cameroon in January 2022.
