Napoli’s star striker Victor Osimhen once again proved his worth as he helped his team claim an important victory against Cagliari in the Serie A on Saturday.
The Nigerian international was not only on target with a goal but also provided a world-class assist to his teammate Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, which helped Napoli secure a 2-1 win over their opponents.
Osimhen’s goal in the 69th minute was his first in Serie A since October, and it came as he rose high to head home a cross from the left.
Just three minutes later, Cagliari equalized through Leonardo Pavoletti, but Napoli didn’t lose hope and continued their quest for a win.
In the 75th minute, Osimhen once again proved his brilliance as he received a pass inside the box, juggled the ball in front of three Cagliari players with his right thigh, slotted it in between the legs of his marker, and then laid it for his teammate to slam home.
It was a fantastic assist that highlighted his incredible skills and vision on the field.
With this win, Napoli climbed to fourth place in the Serie A standings with 27 points, 11 points behind the league leaders Inter Milan.
Osimhen’s contribution to the team has been immense this season, as he has now scored seven goals in the ongoing campaign.
It’s no surprise that he was named the CAF Player of the Year, and he’s proving once again that he’s one of the best strikers in the world.
