Scotland supporter Craig Ferguson was greeted with a rapturous reception upon his arrival in the heart of Munich, specifically at the charming Marienplatz on Thursday. After embarking on a remarkable 1,000-mile (1,600 km) journey from his hometown of Glasgow over 41 days, Ferguson’s efforts were celebrated by hundreds of fellow Scots who enthusiastically cheered and sang as he made his triumphant appearance in the square, even dousing him with beer in jubilation.
Despite his evident exhaustion, Ferguson couldn’t help but beam with elation. In reflecting on his arduous trek, he candidly admitted, “I’d be lying if I said that this hasn’t been the hardest thing I’ve ever done… I just used the adrenaline and the motivation of almost being at the finish line, just to really carry me over.”

His arrival in Munich comes just a day before the kickoff of the Euro 2024 tournament, where Germany is set to face Scotland in the opening match.
Expressing his profound satisfaction with the journey and its noble cause, Ferguson remarked, “I would not change it for a second. You know, every last bit of this journey, the good and the bad has led me here. We’ve raised over 50,000 pounds ($64,000) for charity.”
