TCN Announces Maintenance at Two Substations
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has issued a public notice informing residents of the Federal Capital Territory about upcoming power interruptions. This maintenance, aimed at ensuring the reliability of the power infrastructure, will affect several areas over the weekend.
Saturday’s Maintenance Schedule in Gwagwalada
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, TCN engineers will be working on a 60MVA power transformer and its switchgear at the Gwagwalada 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation. During this period, residents of Gwagwalada and surrounding areas will experience a power cut for four hours.
Sunday’s Extensive Maintenance at Kukwaba
On Sunday, December 29, 2024, another maintenance session is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Kukwaba 132/33kV Transmission Substation. This work on another 60MVA transformer will lead to an extended blackout affecting Wuye, EFCC, Federal Medical Centre, Coca-Cola, Idu Railway Station, Citec, and Life Camp.
Apology and Assurance from TCN
TCN has extended apologies for the inconvenience, particularly noting the timing around the festive season. They emphasize that these scheduled maintenances are crucial for maintaining the efficiency and reliability of power supply equipment.
