Napoli’s manager, Rudi Garcia, expressed his disappointment with Victor Osimhen’s performance in their recent 2-1 defeat to Lazio on Sunday night.
The Serie A champions, who had won their opening two games of the campaign, were stunned by Mauricio Sarri’s side in front of their fans at a packed Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Osimhen struggled to make an impact against the visitors’ defence in the thrilling contest, which left Garcia unimpressed with the Nigeria international’s overall performance, despite acknowledging that he did perform better in the first half.

Garcia was quoted by Tutto Napoli, saying, “In the first half, he (Osimhen) didn’t have any sensational opportunities, and he also dropped off in the second half.
He is always a burden for the opposing defence, and he creates spaces for others. We had opportunities and ambitions, and we were aggressive.
But in the second half, none of my players were up to the team’s standards.”
Despite the loss, Osimhen has managed to score two goals in three league appearances for Napoli this season, and the team will be hoping for better performances from him in their upcoming games.
