The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has reacted to an alleged impeachment move against him.
He stated this on Monday, while addressing his supporters at the State Assembly Complex in Port Harcourt.
Fubara insisted that he has committed no offence to warrant being impeached by the Assembly.
While assuring the people of the state of getting the dividends of democracy, the governor said; “Let them come out and tell Rivers people the offence I have committed to warrant any impeachment.
“Let me assure the people of Rivers that I will continue to ensure that you get the dividends of democracy. At the appropriate time I will address the press”, he said.
CRUX NEWS reports that Rivers State House of Assembly complex was gutted by fire which greatly affected the chamber on Sunday night.
However, on Monday morning, 24 out of the 32 members of the Assembly signed for the removal of the House Majority Leader, Edison Ehie.
The development may be connected to the alleged plot to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
