Real Madrid legend Marcelo’s contract with his Brazilian boyhood club, Fluminense, has been terminated two months early following a tense dispute with coach Mano Menezes. Reports suggest that Marcelo’s attitude had long been a point of contention among teammates, as he was viewed by many as overly assertive and difficult to work with.
The final incident occurred during Fluminense’s recent match against Grêmio when Menezes planned to substitute Marcelo on in the closing minutes. However, Marcelo allegedly questioned the coach’s strategy, leading Menezes to opt for striker John Kennedy instead.
