Katsina State governor, Dikko Radda has charged residents of the state to protect their communities from attacks by criminals.
Governor Radda made the call on Friday at an emergency security council meeting in Katsina, the state’s capital.
The governor summoned the meeting to find solutions to the economic hardship and insecurity in the state.
While appraising the security challenges in the state, the governor revealed that he is one of the bandits’ targets, due to the pressure being put on them by the government and security forces.
“Security report revealed that I’m now one of their targets in the state because of the measures we are taking to deal with the situation.
“We are calling on people to organise themselves to protect their communities from attacks by criminals,” the governor urged.
Radda also stated that he called the meeting to address what he described as the intolerable economic hardship in the country to avert the protests that happened in other states.
