The Kaduna State Police Command operatives have apprehended a notorious bandit named Muhammad Bello during a raid at Kidandan in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state.
Muhammad Bello, 30, originating from Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, is known to be an associate of the infamous bandit Dogo Haliru. They are implicated in numerous assaults in Zamfara, Katsina, and along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway. Bello’s capture was the result of reliable intelligence gathered by the Operation Yaki team.
The arrest was announced on Saturday by ASP Mansir Hassan, the Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Police Command.
Additionally, the police rescued three individuals who had been abducted during a clash with bandits on the Kidandan–Dogon Dawa Road in the Birnin-Gwari local government area.

The statement detailed that upon receiving a distress call about armed bandits obstructing the Kidandan-Dogon Dawa Road and abducting an unknown number of people, police operatives from Kidandan swiftly reacted. The Divisional Police Officer of the area sent out the Police Mobile Force attached to Operation Whirl Punch in Galadimawa. The arriving officers confronted the bandits in a firefight.
Despite the bandits managing to damage two tires of the police’s Armoured Personnel Vehicle, the police unit was able to rescue three kidnapped individuals: Ashiru Abubakar from Batagarawa local government area in Katsina state, Ahmed Ibrahim from Dutsen Ma, Katsina state, and Shehu Kabiru from Kidandan.
