Abubakar Haruna, 27, has been apprehended by the Lagos State Police on suspicion of stealing cables from a transformer in the Onikan area of the state.
In a tweet uploaded on his X handle @benHundeyin on Saturday, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state’s police spokesperson, confirmed the detention.
According to Hundeyin, police officers intercepted the culprit after they received a distress call and stormed the murder scene.
“After the suspect leaped into a compound and cut off cables from the transformer within the grounds, officers of Onikan Division responded to a distress call and detained the individual.
“A machete, two saws, and pliers were used to arrest him,” the image maker stated.
A representative for the company stated that the case was still being looked into.
