Poland Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced that Poland will officially bid to host the Olympic Games in either 2040 or 2044. Speaking to the press on Friday, Tusk dedicated the decision to the younger generation, stating, “I dedicate this decision to the 10, 12, and 15-year-olds of today. Poland will officially bid to host the Olympic Games.”
Tusk highlighted that 2040 or 2044 are realistic prospects for Poland, given the preliminary commitments and statements from the International Olympic Committee.
This announcement comes after Poland’s conservative president, Andrzej Duda, expressed his intention last year to submit a bid for the 2036 Summer Olympic.

Poland, which has never organized an Olympic Games, has previously co-hosted the 2012 European Football Championship with Ukraine and hosted the European Games in 2023. Berlin has also announced plans to bid for the 2040 Olympics, setting the stage for a competitive selection process.
