The Plateau Football Association (PFA) has announced its plans to embark on a tour of the 17 local government areas (LGAs) in the state, intending to promote grassroots football.
Suleiman Kwande, the PFA Chairman, made this announcement during a courtesy call on the State’s Director of Sports, Prof. Ezra Gunen, on Thursday in Jos.
During the meeting, Kwande revealed that in addition to the LGA tour, the PFA leadership would also be visiting key stakeholders of the sport within and outside the state.
This move, he said, was aimed at wooing the stakeholders to support the development of football in Plateau.
Kwande further explained that the purpose of the visit was to brief Gunen about the activities of the PFA and to make known some of their future programmes.

He noted that the courtesy call was the first since the association’s election, which had been delayed due to circumstances beyond their control.
The chairman also mentioned that the Governor’s Cup was ongoing and that they would be having a meeting with Gunen to decide the venue for the final match.
Additionally, the PFA had changed its logo, which now features stars that represent the local government areas, a ball to signify football, and a rock that represents Plateau.
The new logo will be launched soon.
In his response, Gunen expressed his appreciation for the visit and pledged his support for the development of sports on the Plateau.
He assured the PFA leadership of his total commitment to working with them to achieve their objectives.
