As Manchester City prepares to defend their Champions League title against Red Star Belgrade, coach Pep Guardiola has taken a modest stance on their previous win.
While acknowledging the importance of the victory, he highlighted that many clubs have also won just one Champions League title.
Nonetheless, he expressed pride in being part of the club’s historic achievement.
However, he also noted that other teams have won two, three, four, or even five Champions League titles, making it crucial for City to stay focused and strive for more success.

“For our club to win the Champions League is something incredible,” the City boss told reporters on Monday. “But how many teams have won just one Champions League? A lot.
“But there are a lot to win two, three, four, five. In perspective, we didn’t do anything special, just one. For us the club didn’t have it, to be part of that (makes me) proud.”
Guardiola believes that winning the first one is the hardest, but he remains optimistic that his team will find it easier to defend their title.
Despite the multiple trophies that City has won in recent years, Defender Kyle Walker has confirmed that the players and manager remain hungry for more success.
Unfortunately, City will be missing key players such as John Stones, Jack Grealish, and Mateo Kovacic for the upcoming match against Red Star, who have a rich history of winning the European championship in 1991.
