Markus Dali, a resident of Sina Kwande in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, tragically lost his life while attempting to break up a fight between two individuals.
The incident occurred on August 30 when Dali intervened in a dispute between Barka Yama and Alex Z. Tari. According to reports, Barka allegedly struck Dali during the altercation, causing him to lose consciousness. Dali was rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.
The 32-year-old suspect, Barka, has been arrested and charged with culpable homicide under Section 191 of the Penal Code. During a hearing at a magistrates’ court in Yola, the prosecuting officer, ASP Francis Audu, detailed how Dali was fatally struck while trying to separate the fighters. Chief Magistrate Muhammed Njidda ordered Barka’s remand in a correctional facility, awaiting legal advice from the Department of Public Prosecutions.
