Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has urged Nigerians facing challenging times to turn to God for assistance. His message was delivered during the June Thanksgiving service at the RCCG headquarters in Ebute-Metta, themed ‘Lifter Up of My Head.’
Addressing the congregation, Pastor Adeboye said, “If you need provision, if things are tough and I know they are for many of us call upon the one whose name is Jehovah El-Shaddai, the God who is more than enough.” He emphasized the importance of faith and reliance on God, adding, “Call upon Him—the one who is more than enough, and He will meet your needs, He has numerous ways, tailored to your specific needs.”
He continued, “When all paths seem blocked, call upon Him who is called the way even when you’re unsure of what’s happening.”
Meanwhile, Nigeria is grappling with an industrial strike initiated by organized labor to demand an increase in the minimum wage. The labor unions propose a new minimum wage of N494,000, while the Nigerian government has offered N60,000.
In a last-ditch effort to avert the strike, leaders of the National Assembly and organized labor representatives held a meeting. However, the meeting concluded without a resolution, as labor leaders insisted on proceeding with the strike.
TUC President, Comrade Festus Osifo, reaffirmed the unions’ stance, stating, “It is difficult and indeed impossible for us as labor leaders to call off the strike here. We need to communicate with our various organs, meaning that the industrial action will begin on Monday as planned.”

Pastor Adeboye’s call for divine intervention comes at a critical time when many Nigerians are experiencing economic hardship and uncertainty. His message encourages individuals to seek solace and solutions through faith, even as the country navigates through labor disputes and economic challenges.
The ongoing strike underscores the significant disconnect between labor demands and government proposals, reflecting broader issues within the nation’s economic policies and labor relations. The outcome of this industrial action could have profound implications for the Nigerian workforce and the economy.
In these turbulent times, Pastor Adeboye’s words offer a spiritual refuge, reminding the faithful of the power of prayer and divine provision amidst adversity.
