There was palpable panic in Lagos as suspected kidnappers abducted the Managing Director of Fouani Company, which represents LG and Hisense, along with three Lebanese nationals.
The incident occurred while they were traveling by boat from Apapa to Victoria Island on Friday, June 14, 2024.
The abductions reportedly took place around the Falomo Bridge, adding to the growing concerns about safety in the region. According to a source familiar with the incident, who spoke to PUNCH Online under the condition of anonymity, the kidnappers have made contact and demanded a ransom of $1.5 million, approximately N2.24 billion.
“Yesterday (Friday) evening, the Managing Director of Fouani Company (LG and Hisense) and three Lebanese were kidnapped around Falomo Bridge while traveling from Apapa to Victoria Island by boat. The kidnappers have asked for $1.5 million,” the source revealed.

When reached for comment, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident. “Yes, it is true. We got the report, and we are looking into it. Please, I’m not obliged to state more than that,” he said.
Authorities are reportedly intensifying efforts to secure the release of the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The incident has heightened security concerns among residents and businesses operating in the area, prompting calls for enhanced protective measures and vigilance.
