Asisat Oshoala, a Nigerian International soccer player, has officially signed with Bay FC, a franchise in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States.
The talented forward has departed Barcelona after spending five successful years with the Spanish club, for an undisclosed transfer fee.
Bay FC confirmed the transfer on their website, stating that Oshoala has been signed on a contract that runs through the 2026 season, with an option for the 2027 campaign.
Bay FC’s General Manager, Lucy Rushton, expressed her excitement about the acquisition of Oshoala, stating that adding a player of her quality, experience, and winning pedigree to their roster is a significant milestone for the club and the NWSL.
Rushton also praised Oshoala’s top-class mentality, pace, and technical ability, which allows her to lead the line while giving other players the freedom to be creative and thrive in space.

Oshoala is a proven goal scorer at the most elite levels of world football, having scored an impressive 107 goals in 149 appearances for Barcelona.
Her record-setting season in 2022, where she was the joint top scorer in the league with 19 goals, stands as a testament to her remarkable talent and skill.
She has also led the team in scoring three times, helping Barcelona to win the UEFA Women’s Champions League twice (2020-21, 2022-23), earn four league titles, three Spanish Super Cups, and the Copa de la Reina three times.
As the first African woman to win the UEFA Champions League final in 2021 and the first African woman to score in the Champions League final in 2019, Oshoala has undoubtedly made a name for herself in the world of soccer.
