Fatai Osho, the head coach of Akwa United, a Nigerian Premier Football League team, has resigned from his position.
The team has been struggling and Osho decided to step down after they were placed in the 17th position with only three wins from 14 games.
The former Rivers United assistant coach announced his resignation on social media, thanking the chairman of the club, Paul Bassey, for his overwhelming support.
In his post, Osho expressed his gratitude to Bassey, calling him a rare breed that deserves all happiness and success.
He also mentioned that while they gave it their all, it was not enough to turn the team’s fortunes around.
However, Osho remained optimistic that this temporary setback would be followed by unimaginable success.
He closed his post by expressing his eternal appreciation for Bassey.

Osho had taken charge of Akwa United at the beginning of the season after the club failed to renew the contract of his former head coach, Ayodeji Ayeni.
The young tactician had hoped to steer the team towards a better performance, but unfortunately, the results did not meet his expectations.
With Osho’s resignation, Akwa United is expected to name a replacement ahead of their matchday 15 clash with Sunshine Stars on Thursday.
