Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, NNPC has debunked the trending rumour of an upward review of fuel pump prices nationwide.
This is coming amid reports of an upward review of fuel pump prices.
Following the report, the President of the National Labour Congress, NLC, Joe Ajaero, threatened to embark on a nationwide strike without issuing a notice if the fuel pump price increases.
The NNPC in a press statement released on X, formerly Twitter on Monday, debunked the news.
“Dear esteemed customers, we at NNPC Retail value your patronage and do not intend to increase our PMS pump prices as widely speculated. Please buy the best quality products at the most affordable prices at our NNPC Retail Stations nationwide”, NNPC stated.
Recall that the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN said that as long as the Dollar continues to rise in the foreign exchange market, an upward increment of fuel would be imminent.
Crux News recalls that the fuel marketers had in July hiked fuel pump prices to over N600/per litre.
