Following the ongoing protests by the Nigeria labour unions, NLC, the gates into the National Assembly Complex in Abuja have been locked by the parliamentary workers
CRUX NEWS reports that the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and Trade Union Congress, TUC announced a nationwide strike starting Tuesday 14 November despite a court order restraining the unions.
The unions had last week issued a nationwide strike notice over alleged assault on the President of NLC, Joe Ajaero by police in Imo state on November 1 2023.
As of the time of filling this report, all the gates into the National Assembly complex have been locked by the workers. Several workers and visitors are currently stranded.
However, despite the lockdown, plenary is ongoing in the House of Representatives.
