The Nigerian government has expressed condolences to Russia following the terrorist attack at Moscow’s Crocus City Hall. On Friday, armed individuals wearing camouflage stormed the venue during a concert and commenced firing.
Al Jazeera reports that the death toll, which includes children, has risen to 115. The Islamic State (ISIS) has previously declared responsibility for the attack.
In a statement expressing solidarity with Russia, Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, offered prayers for the swift recovery of the injured.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the people and government of the Russian Federation for the tragic assault at the Crocus Concert Hall in Moscow,” the statement reads.
“The assault led to the loss of innocent lives and left over a hundred people injured.
“We also pray for the expedited healing of those wounded. In these trying times, we stand united with the government and people of the Russian Federation.

“Our profound sympathies and condolences are extended to Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
Concurrently, Russian President Vladimir Putin denounced the concert hall assault as a “heinous act of terrorism” and promised severe punishment for all perpetrators.
In his televised speech, Putin announced the apprehension of all four assailants before they could flee across the Ukrainian border.
“I am speaking to you today in connection with the bloody, barbaric terrorist act, the victims of which were dozens of innocents, peaceful people,” Putin said in his first public remarks since the attack.
“All four perpetrators of the terrorist attack who shot and killed people have been detained. They were travelling towards Ukraine where, according to preliminary information, they had a window to cross the border,” the Kremlin leader said.
